Renowned First Nations artist Allen Sapp continues to recover in an Edmonton hospital.
The North Battleford resident lapsed into a diabetic coma at the end of July.
The director for the Allen Sapp Gallery, Dean Bauche, says the 77-year-old artist has shown great resiliency throughout his ordeal, and doctors describe his comeback as miraculous.
In 1987, Sapp received the Order of Canada for his paintings, which depict the Cree way of life.
He is a member of the Red Pheasant First Nation.
