Search Effort For Missing Woman Unsuccessful

Searchers that spent the weekend looking for clues related to the disappearance of an Aboriginal woman in Saskatoon came up empty-handed.

Dozens of volunteers were hoping to uncover something that would help in the investigation into 26-year-old Dahleen Bosse’s whereabouts.

The Onion Lake band member was last seen about a year ago.

A few weeks later, her vehicle – missing a few items – was located in the city’s Sutherland district.

None of those items were found in the weekend search.

However, Saskatoon Police Staff Sergeant Kelly Cook says the search wasn’t a wasted effort, since it eliminated an area that police thought would be a likely source of clues.

There were several items of interest recovered by searchers over the weekend, but Cook says it doesn’t look like they will help in the investigation.

Bosse’s disappearance has been treated as a criminal matter since January, but Cook says police held off conducting a ground search until now because the snow on the ground would have hampered the search efforts.
