Snow Hampers Search Efforts Near Wahpeton

The search continues for a missing man from the Wahpeton Dakota First Nation.
20-year-old Damian Prosper was last seen on the reserve March 2nd.
Band members continue to comb the area in an effort to locate him.
Band councillor Beverly Waditaka says they have heard nothing that would indicate Prosper isn’t still on the reserve, so they continue to look. In fact, volunteers from a few northern communities are still involved in the search.
However, RCMP spokesperson Heather Russell says recent heavy snow in the area has hampered search efforts, and that’s why the Mounties have ended their participation in a ground search.
She adds the RCMP may launch another search when the snow melts if Prosper hasn’t been found by that time.
