The chief of the Lac La Ronge Indian Band says she accepts an apology from the Saskatoon Star-Phoenix.

The paper got in hot water with the band last week for printing a letter to the editor that alleged that $4 million of band money had gone missing in Stanley Mission under “mysterious circumstances”.

The paper issued a retraction the following day after getting a letter of complaint from the band.

Chief Tammy Cook-Searson says officials at the Star-Phoenix demonstrated their regrets about the mistake by calling her personally.
