Suspect In Fatal Assault Charged With Murder

A 31-year-old man from Grandmother’s Bay is facing a second-degree murder charge in connection with the killing of a local man early yesterday morning.

RCMP responded to the scene shortly before 5:00 am yesterday, at which time they discovered a man who was severely injured and required medical attention.

The 28-year-old man from Grandmother’s Bay later died from injuries sustained in the assault.

The accused is scheduled to appear in La Ronge Provincial Court tomorrow morning.

The names of the deceased and accused will be released soon after.
