Sweetgrass Artist Honoured Posthumously

A deceased Sweetgrass First Nation artist is being honoured in North Battleford.

John Henry Fineday will be inducted into the Frontier Mall Wall of Fame May 3rd, along with two other Battlefords individuals.

His artwork can be seen in many places, including the doors of the First Nations University of Canada.

Fineday is being honoured for his contributions to art and for being a role model for young Aboriginal artists.

Frontier Mall marketing director Tamara Sonmor says he had a short but brilliant career.

Fineday passed away November 19th, 2006 at the age of 32.
