Sylvestre Makes Return To MLTC Executive

The Meadow Lake Tribal Council has brought back a familiar face to be the organization’s new Dene vice chief.

Former vice chief Eric Sylvestre got his old job back yesterday in an election involving MLTC chiefs, elders and other delegates.

He defeated three other candidates, including incumbent Gordon Billette.

Sylvestre held the position until he was voted out of office in Billette’s election victory four years ago.

Sylvestre will serve a four-year term in office.
