A temporary replacement has been found for the Metis Employment and Training Institute of Saskatchewan.

This morning, an official with Service Canada said the government has arranged to have the province’s Advanced Education and Employment Department take over for METSI in the near future.

It was earlier this spring, when the government decided not to renew funding to METSI over concerns related to the Metis Nation of Saskatchewan election scandal of 2004.

A spokesperson for the education department confirms the change will happen in the fall. It’s not clear yet, who will take over for METSI on a permanent basis.
