Victim of Reserve House Fire Identified

RCMP have released the name of the person who died in a house fire over the weekend on the Wahpeton Dakota First Nation.

26-year-old Troy Head lost his life early Sunday morning when flames engulfed the mobile trailer he was apparently sleeping in.

Fire crews arrived on the scene but were unable to save the band resident.

The cause of the fire is still not known.

A report from the fire commissioner’s office is expected at a future date.
