Wife-Killer Given Life Sentence

A judge in Meadow Lake has sentenced a northern man to life in prison for killing his wife.

53-year-old Paul Montgrand received his sentence yesterday in provincial court.

Under the terms of the sentence Montgrand will be eligible for parole.

However, it isn’t clear how long he will have to wait before he’s able to make an application.

Montgrand pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the death of Carol Riviere after originally being charged with second-degree murder.

The 62-year-old woman’s body was found outside a school in Dillon back in February.
