Youth Attend HIV/AIDS Conference In Regina

Getting youth “in the know” about HIV/AIDS is the goal of a gathering going on in Regina today.

Youth from as far north as Fond du Lac made the trip to participate in Reawaken the Spirit, an Aboriginal youth HIV/AIDs gathering.

Its goal is get youth engaged and allow them to both share and hear stories about people living with HIV/AIDS.

Beatrice Laframboise is an elder with All Nations Hope AIDS Network in Regina.

She offered her traditional knowledge and guidance to the youth at today’s gathering.

Laframboise says gatherings like the one held today will help educate youth about the disease.

The conference runs all day tomorrow.
