Aboriginal Tourism Helps Hike Visitor Numbers

Tourism Saskatchewan recently reported that visitors to Saskatchewan increased this year, especially during the summer, and some of this success could be attributed to Aboriginal tourism.
Lorne Carrier of Aboriginal Tourism of Saskatchewan says inquiries for Aboriginal activities come from Manitoba, Alberta and northern U.S. states, such as Montana and North Dakota.
Carrier says that international tourists look for Aboriginal events as secondary activities.
He says the upcoming celebrations commemorating the event of 1885 and the Riel rebellion will make 2010 a great year for tourism in Saskatchewan.
