Affordable Housing for La Ronge

The federal and provincial governments officially opened 20 new units of affordable rental housing for families in La Ronge today.

Many dignitaries were on hand, including Rob Clarke, MP for Desnethe-Missinippi Churchill River, Minister responsible for Saskatchewan Housing Corporation Donna Harpauer, as well as La Ronge Mayor Thomas Sierzycki.

Sierzycki says this announcement is crucial because La Ronge is short on affordable housing.

The first project, La Ronge Aurora Pines, consists of 12 units built as one duplex and one ten-plex.

The second project consists of eight family apartments for Northern Teachers Education Program students.

The 2 million dollar project was developed and managed by NORTEP.
