Universities across the country have agreed to try and make classes more inclusive and relevant to Aboriginal students.

The Deans of Education across Canada have signed an accord with Aboriginal leaders over Indigenous education.

The accord is aimed at developing teaching methods that reflect the specific cultural needs of First Nations people.

Dr. John Lundy is one of the people who helped design the agreement.

He says it centres on respect for Aboriginal traditions and culture.

Lundy says the accord also provides a framework under which university programs will be reviewed.
