All Children Deserve Equal Education: NAAF CEO

Aboriginal children need – and deserve – the same level of education funding as non-Aboriginal children so they can go to college or university, a Senate witness said today.
Roberta Jamieson is the President and CEO of the National Aboriginal Achievement Foundation. She spoke in Ottawa before the Senate Committee on Aboriginal People.
Jamieson said governments talk a lot about making sure Aboriginal youth have enough funding to go to post secondary education.
But then the matter seems to get bogged down in fighting between different levels of government, as to who’s responsible for what.
Jamieson said funding for aboriginal people to attend post-secondary education should be the same as it is for non-Aboriginal people.
