RCMP are confirming the body of a missing 16-year-old boy was recovered over the weekend in Deschambault Lake.
He was one of two teens that went missing last week after a boat with seven occupants capsized.
The Mounties say his remains were found early Saturday evening.
The body of the other victim, a 19-year-old male, was recovered last week.
RCMP spokesperson Christine Niemczyk says the investigation into the circumstances that resulted in the deaths continues.
The names of the victims haven’t been released.
Meantime, one of the Peter Ballantyne Cree Nation band councillors in Deschambault Lake, Peter Beatty, says the family has questions about how the tragedy occurred.
He says everyone is hoping an RCMP investigation reveals exactly what took place, but adds the community is mainly relieved the bodies have been recovered.
Beatty is in Prince Albert today assisting the family with funeral preparations.
He says the community is doing whatever it can to help them through this tragic time, and says the incident has been quite a shock.
Beatty says he wishes to thank everyone who participated in the search for the missing boaters, including the RCMP dive team and other First Nations who ventured their assistance.
