Eighty-six Aboriginal recruits into the Bold Eagle program were honoured yesterday at the Whitecap Dakota First Nation’s pow wow.

The summer training employment program for Aboriginal youth was developed by the Department of National Defence and Aboriginal organizations, including the Federation of Saskatchewan Indian Nations.

Nicole Brenner-Rae from Vancouver says she joined the program to increase her self-confidence and make friends.

Brenner-Rae says she is proud of what she accomplished and wants to show other people in hopes of encouraging them to join the program.
