Two men are facing a charge of second-degree murder in connection to the weekend shooting of another man in La Loche.
The suspects, 26-year-old Curtis Ecklund and 18-year-old Richie Herman, are also facing weapons charges.
The RCMP says one of them was arrested yesterday, while the other suspect was one of the four individuals arrested on Sunday.
They will remain in custody until their next court appearance on June 24th in Battleford Court of Queen’s Bench.
The name of the 29-year-old victim won’t be released at the request of the victim’s family.
The victim and suspects are all from La Loche.
Meanwhile, there are reports that Sunday night’s shooting was gang-related.
The Saskatoon Star-Phoenix says, according to a source, a gang known as the Scorpion Brothers was responsible for the homicide.
The paper says the victim was shot in broad daylight on a main street in the community, not far from a government building.
The Star-Phoenix is also quoting the source as saying that the victim and suspects “used to be friends”.
