A Saskatchewan First Nation is taking advantage of a wind farm opportunity.

Cowessess First Nation land will be home to the province’s Go Green project.

According to a release, the Ministry of Environment is contributing nearly $1.4 million towards the project through the Go Green fund.

The First Nation will match the amount.

The government says the project will harness wind energy at a height of 70 to 90 metres above the ground.

Saskatchewan Environment says the energy can potentially be stored during low wind situations.
