Students at Creighton Community School have raised over $8,000 for earthquake survivors in Haiti.

Over 300 kids took part in a spell-a-thon that lasted for two weeks in February.

Noelle Gogle is a teacher at the school who helped coordinate the effort.

She says the kids learned a lot through the fundraiser in regards to community spirit and world views.

The money will be matched by the federal government and given to the Red Cross.
