A meeting is taking place today in the Far North to help plan the cleanup of two abandoned uranium mine sites.
Residents of Uranium City are meeting at the settlement office to voice their thoughts on the way forward.
Mining stopped at the Laredo and Gunnar mine sites several years ago.
A cleanup of the area is planned, but an environmental assessment has to be completed first.
Prince Albert Grand Council spokesperson Diane McDonald says feedback from the meeting will be included in the assessment.
McDonald adds they want to hear from elders who knew what the area was like before the mines started up.
