Fatal Hit And Run Suspect Granted Release

A man charged in a fatal vehicle accident on a Saskatchewan reserve has been released on bail.

19-year-old Trevor Peekeekoot faces a number of charges including dangerous driving causing death and failing to stop at the scene of an accident.

On June 30th, two teenagers were struck by a truck while walking along a grid road on the Ahtahkakoop First Nation.

The collision killed a 16-year-old girl, while a 17-year-old boy was sent to hospital in critical condition.

Peekeekoot was released yesterday after a hearing in Prince Albert Provincial Court.

His next court date is set for August 9th in Ahtahkakoop.
