A Saskatchewan man whose son died while in foster care says he’s hoping to learn more details about what happened in the coming weeks.

Chris Martell says he has hired Saskatoon lawyer Don Worme to represent him.

It was earlier this spring that Martell’s son, Evander Daniels, drowned in a bathtub while in foster care outside Saskatoon.

Martell says a meeting with the RCMP is expected to take place in approximately two weeks.

In the meantime, he is walking to North Battleford to raise money for the legal costs — and has received donations from people as far away as France.

Martell says he has raised $2,600 so far.

Donations are being accepted at any Saskatchewan Credit Union under the “Evander Daniels Fund”.
