A group of women elders met with Regina Mayor Pat Fiacco yesterday to plead the case of the First Nations University of Canada.
The Intercultural Grandmothers Uniting network wanted to let him know their grandchildren’s future depends on school.
Sheila Brass says the history of the university is one of success.
Brass says her former husband, Oliver Brass, was instrumental in fundraising for the FNUC Regina Campus building constructed in 2003.
The Grandmothers say they also plan to join the student live-in at some point to show their support.
