Discussions will be taking place this summer over changing the Indian Affairs Intervention Policy.

Margot Geduld, speaking on behalf of INAC, says the Intervention Policy is in place when First Nations default on their funding agreements.

She says it’s only the first step towards 3rd party management.

Geduld says the intervention policy will be changed to be more holistic and transparent.

First Nations have said the policy removes too much of their authority when dispensing funding for services and programs in their community.
