Joseph’s NDP Candidacy Becomes Official

The federal NDP has officially nominated its candidate for northern Saskatchewan.
Former FSIN chief Lawrence Joseph was officially acclaimed as the candidate at a meeting last night in Prince Albert.
Provincial NDP MLA Buckley Belanger was Joseph’s nominator.
Belanger says it is time to elect a strong voice for the province’s north, adding “it is time we stop sending useless MPs to Ottawa, we now need a fighter.”
Joseph says he likes the NDP because leader Jack Layton allows his MPs to speak their mind — even if they don’t share Layton’s opinion on certain issues.
The 65-year-old Joseph also says he has nothing to lose by speaking out, adding the sign of a good politician is to be a servant to the people.
He says he has travelled through the riding regularly for the last 12 years, and knows there are many residents who need help.
