La Loche Man Cleared In Stabbing Death

Charges have been dismissed against a Clearwater River Dene Nation man accused of stabbing another reserve resident to death.

21-year-old Mitchell Lemaigre had been charged with manslaughter in the death of Palmer Piche.

The 30-year-old Piche died in an altercation last spring.

His body was discovered outside a home by a passerby.

A preliminary hearing had been scheduled for earlier this week.

Lemaigre was previously released from custody in October.
