A Metis lawyer from Saskatoon has been suspended.
The Law Society of Saskatchewan says Michelle Leclair-Harding is no longer entitled to practice law, effective immediately.
The reasons for the decision are not known.
Leclair-Harding once served as the legal counsel for the Metis Nation – Saskatchewan, and has been the lead counsel in two Aboriginal rights cases in Saskatchewan and Alberta.
She also spent four years as the so-Speaker for the MNS Legislative Assembly, and has also chaired numerous Metis National Council Assemblies.
