Man Accused Of Abducting Son In La Ronge

A man is now before the courts after an alleged abduction attempt in La Ronge.

The Mounties claim Travis Billette took off with his one year-old son last Tuesday.

They also say Billette assaulted the child’s mother when she tried to intervene.

According to the RCMP, an Amber Alert was in the process of being initiated when the Mounties apprehended the suspect.

He faces charges of break and enter, abduction and assault causing bodily harm — but has since been released from custody on certain conditions.

The child is now back with his mother.
