The president of the Metis Nation – Saskatchewan continues to speak out after a letter was sent to the media by nine area directors, calling for his resignation, and that of the vice-president.
Robert Doucette held a press conference this morning to say since that letter initially went out, two area directors have recanted.
He maintains the provincial Metis council has held enough meetings are per the constitution and says the MN-S in general has done a lot of good work this past year.
Helen Johnson, one of the area directors who signed the letter, says she and others are not disputing some of the good work that has gone on.
She says the concern is with the treasury board and how money is being spent.
Johnson says the treasury board was asking questions but wasn’t provided any answers.
Johnson denies the rumors that the area directors who signed the letter have “sour grapes” over portfolio assignments.
