The New Voices program in Winnipeg is helping young filmmakers get started.
The program is designed for young Aboriginal adults who want to work in the film and television industry.
Twenty-year-old Colten Yuzicappi of Regina is one such student.
He says he’s looking forward to networking and gaining knowledge.
Yuzicappi says he also wants to learn how to pitch ideas and produce.
Students train with professionals before participating in an eight-week internship.
The six week program began this week in Winnipeg.
New Voices — hosted by the National Screen Institute — is in its sixth year.
