NDP Pledges to Reverse Trappers Funding Cut

The leader of the provincial opposition is pledging to reverse cuts made to the budget of the Northern Saskatchewan Trappers Association.

On Friday, NDP leader Dwain Lingenfelter met with trappers at a meeting held north of La Ronge.

He says the harvesters told him a number of concerns they have with the present government, one of which was a recent cut to their budget.

Lingenfelter says he can’t believe the government is nickel-and-diming trappers when they’re wasting millions elsewhere.

Lingenfelter says trappers also told him they don’t feel the government properly understands the duty to consult measure.
