The Saskatchewan Indian Institute of Technologies will start training aircraft maintenance technicians next month.

The course, which will be presented at the Saskatoon airport, provides the first 18 months of training on the road to becoming an aircraft mechanic.

Program head Shane Clark says the program is open to anyone who qualifies — regardless of ancestry — and it filled up quickly.

Sixteen students have been accepted into the program.

The course begins September 7th.
