Northern CBC Radio Host Bids Farewell

This is the last day on the air for a long-time voice in northern Saskatchewan radio.

Tom Roberts, the host of CBC Radio’s “Keewatin Country”, is retiring after more than two decades in broadcasting.

Roberts is perhaps best known for his early morning chats with CBC Saskatchewan morning show host Sheila Coles, who is in La Ronge to say farewell.

Earlier today, Coles paid tribute to her long-time colleague by saying part of her love of the province’s north has a lot to do with the way Roberts talks about it.

Roberts says he is most looking forward to having more time to spend on the trapline.
