Northern Municipal Lobby Group Hires New CEO

A new CEO has been hired on at New North.

Tony Bunz takes over the position from Joanne Griffith, who announced her resignation several weeks ago.

Bunz comes to the post after serving as a financial manager with Northern Municipal Affairs.

New North chairman Bobby Woods says Bunz is very familiar with the issues facing the people of the north.

Woods adds it is an exciting time for New North, noting it is discussing an impact benefit agreement with uranium mining companies Cameco and Areva.

He says those talks are still in the early phase, but one meeting has already taken place.
