Communicator, teacher and political activist — that is how a few speakers described world-renowned artist Daphne Odjig during opening remarks at her art show in Regina this weekend.
The show displays over 40 years of work by the First Nations artist.
Greg Hill is the curator of Indigenous Art at the National Art Gallery of Canada and he called Odjig an inspiration.
The 90-year-old Odjig is a member of the Order of Canada.
Her work is at the MacKenzie Art Gallery until May.
