The RCMP are still on the lookout for two men involved in a violent carjacking early Friday morning.
The Mounties say a male resident of the Peepeepkisis First Nation was traveling from Grenfell back to his residence when he picked up two Aboriginal men who were hitchhiking.
According to police, he was struck on the back of the head and knocked unconscious while driving down a rural grid road.
When he regained consciousness later, he found himself laying on the side of the road.
The RCMP say he then walked to a local farm residence, south of Lemberg, and called police for assistance.
The identity of the two suspects is still unknown, and police are asking for the public’s help in identifying them.
Police are also still looking for the stolen vehicle — a 1998 green Pontiac Grand Prix with Saskatchewan licence plate number 447 GRS.
Anyone with any information on this matter is asked to contact the Melville RCMP at (306) 728-1700, the Ituna RCMP at (306) 795-6400, or Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
