Plane Crash Near Pinehouse Will Not Be Probed

The Transportation Safety Board has decided not to launch an investigation into a plane crash north of Pinehouse.
Last week, three people were flown by rescue helicopter to hospital in La Ronge after their plane went down near Flatstone Lake.
The pilot apparently encountered subsiding air shortly after takeoff, forcing him back down into a marsh.
TSB regional manager Peter Hildebrandt says the incident has been recorded — but he says his agency usually only launches investigations when there are questions that need to be answered.
Hildebrandt says the fact the plane was privately-owned, and not owned by a large airline company, factored into the decision — because there is more public interest when a commercial operation is involved.
He adds the owner of the float plane will be responsible for getting the wreckage out of the bush.
