Eleven northerners have been charged with drug-related offences following an investigation involving the Prince Albert Integrated Street Enforcement Team and several RCMP detachments.

Police conducted five searches in recent weeks in several northern communities, including Pelican Narrows, Sandy Bay, Deschambault Lake and Creighton.

Investigators say they found cannabis marijuana, cocaine, cash, firearms and several bottles of alcohol.

Among those arrested were 52-year-old Donald Bear of Sandy Bay and 34-year-old Douglas Cook of Pelican Narrows — who’s also facing a bootlegging charge.

Police have also charged 31-year-old Sheryl Custer, 19-year-old Lionel Custer, 33-year-old Walter Robert Beatty, 40-year-old Julian Ballantyne and 32-year-old Lisa Bear — all of Deschambault Lake.

Four residents of the Creighton/Flin Flon area have also been arrested — 24-year-old Shaye Stener, 19-year-old Danya Cap-Jackson, 22-year-old Samantha Christopherson and 42-year-old Jody Pelletier.

All have been released from custody and will be making court appearances in their respective communities in September and October.
