A man from the Poundmaker Cree Nation says chief and council have agreed to open up financial data to himself and other band members.
Floyd Favel says the agreement came shortly before a meeting last night at Poundmaker Veterans Hall.
Around 50 people attended and called on the band administration to provide them with better information as it pertains to Treaty Land Entitlement money, dealings with the Battlefords Tribal Council and the Enbridge pipeline.
Favel says many people want to see what’s going on with those arrangements and how it’s affecting their First Nation.
He says the chief and council have promised to come through with that information by June 8th — and at that point, the band members will give the administration a vote of confidence or non-confidence.
Band officials weren’t immediately available for comment.
