Reported Child Abduction In La Ronge Didn’t Happen

The RCMP say a report on Monday of a girl being kidnapped in La Ronge turned out to be false.
Around 5:15 p.m., the local Mounties were informed that a 12-year-old girl had seen two men grab a girl of about the same age and force her into a van.
The RCMP searched the community, but couldn’t find the vehicle.
However, later that night, officers determined the girl’s story was unfounded.
The La Ronge RCMP say an Amber Alert was not issued because they didn’t have the name of the alleged victim.
The incident came just days after local residents were asked to be on the lookout for a man in a white van who had apparently been taking pictures of children in the community.
