SaskEnergy Provides Funds For Tribal Council Youth

The chief of the Saskatoon Tribal Council says a new partnership with a Crown corporation is beneficial to both parties.

SaskEnergy is partnering with STC and paying for a summer student, as well as providing funding to send students to science camps and extreme outdoor camps.

Tribal Chief Felix Thomas says his organization can’t do these things on its own, adding this gives SaskEnergy a chance to support First Nations youth and initiatives.

SaskEnergy is also providing training and capacity for the tribal council office.

Thomas says STC is always looking at new partnerships, noting it is currently negotiating one with SGI that would bring driver and passenger safety to schools.
