Shoal Lake Man Committed To Trial For Manslaughter

A 28-year-old man from Shoal Lake has been ordered to stand trial on a charge of manslaugter.

Royce Virgil Bear is accused of killing another man during an altercation on the reserve last December.

Officers were called out to the First Nation in the early hours of the morning.

They eventually discovered that a 24-year-old man had been seriously wounded.

He later died.

Bear has been released on a $500 bond, pending compliance of a court order.

A trial date still has to be set.
