A Moosomin First Nation man facing 12 charges — including assault with a knife, crossbow, and baseball bat — has pleaded not guilty.

30-year-old William Lee Wright made that decision during a video appearance in North Battleford Provincial Court late last week.

A preliminary hearing has been set for next spring to determine if there’s enough evidence to send the case to trial.

It’s alleged that on January 17th, Wright broke into a home on the Moosomin reserve.

He is alleged to have assaulted a man with a knife, crossbow, and baseball bat.

Wright is also accused of aggravated assault, pointing a firearm at the victim, and threatening to cause serious bodily harm — even death.

He also faces several firearms charges. They include carrying a restricted weapon — an unregistered handgun — and carrying a weapon for a purpose dangerous to the public peace.
