Starting tomorrow, a small piece of the Canada-U.S. border will be jammed with thousands of people for four days.
They’ll be attending the second annual Metisfest at the International Peace Gardens, on the border between Manitoba and North Dakota.
It’s a big four-day family reunion, organizer Dan Gooden says. He’s calling it a Rondezvous.
Last year, about 7,000 people attended the event. Gooden is expecting at least twice that many this year, from Canada and the U.S.
He’s had lots of phone calls from interested people.
Gooden says there’ll be lots of other attractions: campgrounds will be available and there’ll be lots of music and food.
There’ll also be an 1880s style Rondezvous Village and a big trading post.
