A Thunderchild First Nation family has lost their home due to a grass fire last Sunday.

Dinah Sunchild was driving her daughter, Maggie, to Saskatoon to participate in the First Nations Winter Games when it happened.

The house was also home to three nephews and a niece.

A family friend has opened a trust account to take donations for the family, since they lost all of their possessions and have no insurance.

The home also held historical significance, as it was former home of the late FSIN Senator Norman Sunchild.
