The Northern Saskatchewan Trappers Association says a new regulation announced by the province is not an improvement.

Trappers and commercial fisherd now have to sign a 21-year lease on their resource use cabins.

Association president Clifford Ray says his group doesn’t like the change of policy.

Ray says trapping is an expensive business, and the regulation change will end up costing trappers more money.

He says his organization was not consulted about the change, which was announced in the spring.
