Wahpeton Kids Identified As Camp Vandals

Mediation is being proposed for eight kids who apparently vandalized a camp north of Prince Albert.

Camp Tamarack caters to children who have learning disabilities.

Earlier this week, $25,000 worth of damage was done to it.

RCMP Cpl. Mike Poirier says the youth who carried out the vandalism are residents of the nearby Wahpeton Dakota First Nation.

Poirier says they are all too young to be charged because they are all under 12 years of age.

He says the RCMP is going to try and set up a meeting between the children responsible, and the people who use the camp.

Officials at the Wahpeton Dakota First Nation have not been available for comment.
