Inspectors with the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission are at the Gunnar mine site near Uranium City this week.
They are there to check on progress being made on the cleanup of the abandoned facility.
The Saskatchewan Research Council is the group that’s doing the work.
SRC spokesman Joe Muldoon says they have compiled a list of the hazardous substances on site and demolished some of the buildings.
He says the buildings that posed a physical risk to the public were targeted first.
Muldoon says an Occupational Health and Safety assessment was done on site with respect to the structures.
The public is once again being advised to stay away from the site, due to safety reasons.
The vast majority of the demolition will happen in 2011.
