The Athabasca Territorial Government is expressing concerns about how some projects are being handled in the Athabasca basin.
It says it wants more clarification on the Midwest Mine project and the proposed ore-hauling road from the McArthur River Mine to McClean Lake.
AREVA is looking at building a road so it can haul uranium from the mine to the processing facility.
PAGC spokeswoman Diane McDonald says the communities of Black Lake, Fond du Lac and Hatchet Lake are not fully satisfied with the current community tours being put on by AREVA.
She says they need to see more details about how the projects could affect citizens and their traditional way of life.
She’s hoping a round of new meetings will answer some of these questions.
McDonald also says the provincial and federal governments need to show more interest in these projects as well.
She says they clearly fall under the duty to consult process
In a press release, the PAGC also says questions need to be answered about the potential for an environmental spill.
